|Duties:||At Sleep Train, we believe the customer service that we provide is what sets us apart. The Delivery Team is responsible for ensuring that every customer receives the best delivery experience they have ever had. This is accomplished by delivering in a safe, timely, and professional manner and making sure that the customer is satisfied.|
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DELIVERY DRIVER:
Load/unload delivery trucks and vendor shipments
Safe and appropriate driving of delivery trucks
Maintaining truck safety and efficient operation and reports any damage to vehicle, customer property, company stores
Provide exceptional customer service ensuring timely deliveries, CODs and call-backs
Delivery and set up of new merchandise and removal of old products
Efficient route planning and execution
Verify correct product loaded for delivery
Other duties may be assigned
|Qualifications:||WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:|
The successful applicant should be able to handle the above essential duties and responsibilities along with possessing the following qualifications.
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have two years of personal driving experience
Basic computer knowledge including ability to locate customer homes using online mapping tools or ability to navigate via map books and GPS equipment.
High School diploma or general education degree; or prior experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read maps and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating manuals.
Ability to effectively read, speak and communicate in English.
Must have exceptional follow through to instructions, communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Drivers must complete the full training program within 90 days of hire date. Full Training Program" includes, but is not limited to all book work and tests, on route check sheets, a class on map reading and the Thomas Guide, and a written/oral final. Drivers must pass Smith System Training and a final driving evaluation conducted by an On Route Trainer or the Driver Training Manager.
Ability to follow written and verbal simple to complex instruction and react and respond to emergencies and make decisions
Valid Class C" California drivers license.
Must have no more than one DMV "point" on driving record initially, may not exceed two DMV points during employment, and must be insurable under the companys current insurance policy.
